Do you think it is bad luck when an owl hits the window?

So we had something very interesting hit the window last night. I have seen little birds hit the window, but we had an owl hit the living room window last night. Holy Crap, the bang was loud! I’m actually surprised that it didn’t break the window.
So he knocked himself out (who wouldn’t be when flying into a window.) Shawn and I went rushing outside to see if he was dead or not. When we got to the front deck his eyes were open but he closed them shortly after that.

Thinking that he was dead, Shawn picked him up by the legs and took him into the house for everyone else to have a closer look at him. I guess the minute the warm air hit him he started to move around. So we took him back outside. Shawn set him on the deck and the owl fell over. But after a little bit he sat up in a little ball. Shawn picked him up so I could take a couple of pictures, the owl started to wake up so Shawn went to set him on the boat so nothing would attack him, and he flew right out of Shawn’s hands! His flight was a little wobbly but he made it to one of the trees.

This morning Shawn was going to go see if he was still alive in the tree, and the owl was perched on top of the shed. When I got up a couple of hours later, he was gone so it looks like he is going to live to see another night of hunting.

Shawn figures he was trying to catch one of the cats through the window, I think he probably got disorientated, who knows...

That was an excellent dive, but how will the Russians score him?

So nothing new...kind of a weird week. Really somber at work since Thursday. Megan's sister killed herself and Megan and her mom found her. I feel so bad for Megan since her and her sister were fighting that night...So pretty much the last things said between them were in anger. I don't even want to know what's probably going through her head right now...so now we doubt that Megan will ever come back to work... I would totally understand if she never wanted to come back to Yorkton again. So Megan if you are reading this...Love you girl, hang in there...
So in other news, the Blazer was written off, mom and dad are getting a Jimmy, pretty nice from what I seen of the pictures...I have the next two days off... unfortunately I have a bitch of a cold and I can breathe right... and I sound really bad...
Went swimming yesterday with Shawn, Jason, Levi and Greg...it was entertaining watching Jason and Levi jump off the diving board.
Snowarama was good...to those of you that sponsored me...you ROCK!!! It was the highest total in the all of the 30 years that it has been going. Can't remember the exact total, but it was lots... I didn't win the sled :o( but that's OK, maybe next year.

The wheels on the truck go round and round....

Well I think my Blazer should be all good to go now for a little while. Put new plug and wires in last week Friday, and a new starter and water pump in on Saturday. And Some time in January Dad and Terry put my new gas tank in and put some new shocks in the back. Now pretty much all the needs to be looked at is the inner CV boots and we should be good to go now for a few Hundred more clicks.
So we are still waiting to see what is happening with Mom and Dad's Blazer, apparently there is about $4100 worth of damage from the deer. I really hope they don't write it off, its a nice truck to drive and the rest is still in pretty good shape. Just need a new grill headlight on the passenger side and fender.
So Shawn and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary yesterday, did pretty much the same thing we do every day...sit and watch T.V. together. The only thing different with anniversary is that we actually spent it together. Now that Shawn is officially done school (got the degree and everything.)
Well that's it for now, I'm gonna go put something warm on...its like -30 outside!
